“ This is the BEST ramen I have ever in Cville. As an Asian that loves ramen, I could tell you that this is quite authentic! The service and atmosphere is also very nice! ”
“ Really great flavors from the Ramen. Had Spicy Miso and the flavor was great. Spice level was just enough, not too spicy but the chili oil will stay with you for about 5-6 minutes after your done. The atmosphere is basic but they are trying to be successful in a challenging time. Just remember on Tuesdays there is NO sushi. Not 100% why, but was greeted with that statement as I entered. Service was great and attentive. I will be back for more Ramen!! ”
“ We’re from Michigan we were here in town visiting my cousin and her husband, and I have to say this is the best ramen I’ve ever had! I got the mashu ramen and it was a 10/10. Thank you for your excellent service and delicious food! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town. ”
“ This is a hidden gem! One of those small local restaurants that you discover once and keep coming back. They have best miso soup in Charlottesville! Either a cup or a bowl, I was delighted. Noodle bowls live quite up to their depiction on the web site, true to size and taste. What deserves special note is sushi rolls, generously sized, made with very fresh fish, and artfully served (Samurai roll on the photo, with very tender salmon pieces on top and seared tuna inside, it was great). ”
“ I had the noodles at Mashumen Restaurant tonight, and they were very good. They reminded me of the noodles I used to have in Thailand. Highly recommend!! ”
“ Mashumen is the best ramen you can expect from a place the size of Charlottesville, and I would call it the best in town as well. As of 2023, their sushi menu has seen a big boost as well. There’s all the standard appetizers and a decent selection of ramen types. The ingredients are up to par and they are numerous. You can order alternatives to the noodles in the special order request (we did take out) with no problem. Overall, the best ramen experience within a 2 hour drive. ”
“ First time going here and I was blown away. Sushi was amazing, ramen was amazing. And the portions you get? Large. I was shocked at how big the sushi and ramen was. Food was amazing price is a little up there but we'll worth it. Will be marking this as a favorite place and will be going back. ”
“ All the items we ordered were delicious. The vegetable Ramen was good and shrimp tempura roll was excellent. I forgot the name of the appetizer we had but it was so yum. As dessert we had fried ice cream which was superb. I will visit again next time I am in town. Happy eating! ”
